If you’re in the pet industry, Interzoo is considered the global “place to be.” It’s the world's largest pet trade show held every two years in Nuremberg, Germany. In 2014, more than 37,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibitors from more than 60 countries took part. Now Interzoo 2016 is just around the corner—May 26 to 29—and promises to be even bigger and better.

We hope you’ll visit us at Interzoo at hall 6, booth 321. As general manager for European operations, I’m looking forward to being a part of the extensive AFB International team who will attend the show, including representatives of all regions: USA, Latin America, Asia and obviously Europe. Our local AFB account team will also be there to assist clients from Spain, Italy, France, United Kingdom and Eastern Europe.

At AFB, we understand palatability may not be the number one reason a pet parent chooses to buy the first bag of pet food under a specific brand, but we also know a lack of palatability will definitely prevent that consumer from buying the second bag. By assisting our customers with their palatability performance goals, AFB is an important partner in establishing repeat consumer-level sales.

Our goal for Interzoo 2016 is to have one-on-one conversations with pet food industry customers to understand their goals and challenges, as well as discuss current industry trends. This consultative approach helps us identify how our experts, services and products are able to help meet customer needs.

For Interzoo 2016, we have designed an interactive table that will assist in assessing those customer needs and connect them to possible AFB solutions. The table will act as a guided tour through our thought process when addressing industry trends with AFB product solutions. Some of our newest palatability enhancers address the trends toward hypo-allergenic or mono-protein diets, the use of fresh meat in the production process of dry pet foods and diets free from soy or grain. We also continue to focus on the pet humanization trend with solutions for treats, low-phosphorus life-stage products and organic diets.

We find these kinds of conversations help us strengthen partnerships with existing customers and build relationships with potential new ones—and they always give us new insights on how to help our customers be successful in the pet food marketplace.

We look forward to seeing you at Interzoo 2016. To set up a meeting with AFB, contact your account manager or Jeroen Vaessen at or visit us in our booth for a one-on-one discussion of market and industry trends, your needs and AFB solutions.
