It’s that time of year again! The annual Petfood Forum will be April 3 to 5 in Kansas City, Mo., the heart of the U.S. pet food industry. Our AFB International team will be there in force, and we hope you’ll join us at multiple opportunities throughout the week to connect, learn and share.
THE PALATABILITY MYTHBUSTER CHALLENGE
For those of you registered for the pre-show Petfood Innovation Workshop on April 3, the AFB team looks forward to interacting with you through our “Palatability Mythbusters Challenge.” From pet food ingredients to the feeding experience, we’ll uncover what’s true—and what’s not—in a game show format that promises both insights and fun. There’s still time to sign up at petfoodforumevents.com.
THE SCIENCE OF PALATABILITY
At this year’s Petfood Forum, our AFB research and development team is shining a light on the complex science of palatability performance, specifically around the p-value. Jay Harrison, AFB principal biostatistician, will dispel misconceptions about p-value—a probability calculated from data used in the petfood industry to determine whether one ration is preferred to the other. Join him for “The true meaning of p-value in pet food research” from 2:30 to 3:10 p.m. on April 4 in Room 2105. Feel free to stop by AFB’s booth, No. 1005, to ask Jay questions or email him at email@example.com. Stay tuned for Jay’s upcoming palatantsplus.com blog on p-value, which will include a link to a free download of his Petfood Forum presentation.
JOIN US AT BOOTH 1005 – CONNECT, LEARN & SHARE
We’re excited to introduce new AFB vice president of marketing Dale Spence, who looks forward to meeting you at the show. He'll be joined in the AFB booth by customer service manager Pam Ambrus, our AFB sales, marketing, technical, and research and development customer-interfacing team members, and our general managers from around the globe.
Stop by to learn about the latest research and innovation from AFB and get our take on industry trends—and share your own. One topic that promises to be of interest is how attributes previously only found in super premium foods are being driven into the mass market. There’s also an increasing debate over claims about “what’s best” for your pet—and the toll using human-grade ingredients may be taking on sustainability. We want to hear your thoughts and learn how we can help meet your needs!
While you’re with us, enjoy a cup of coffee and grab a partner to participate in the “Shuffleboard Shootout”—this year’s Play for Pets challenge. For each game played, we’ll donate $5 to the Lawrence Humane Society. Let the competition begin!
We look forward to seeing you at Petfood Forum 2017. Drop by the AFB booth (No. 1005) or, to set up a meeting in advance, contact your account manager or Sarah Gershenson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
