Gordon Stirling

After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in chemical engineering, Gordon began his career in the corn wet milling industry where he learned much about automation and controlling costs. That background served him well when he joined the burgeoning pet food industry in 1995 as a process engineer with Bioproducts/NuPetra in Aurora, Missouri, USA. There he managed the facility’s redesign and later expansion and capital upgrades to facilities in the United Kingdom and Australia. That company joined the AFB International family in 2006 and in 2008 Gordon was promoted to senior manager of AFB’s process lab at the company’s Lovejoy Resource Center in St. Charles, Missouri, USA.

In 2015, he was again promoted, this time to director of process engineering. Ever the problem-solver, Gordon constantly looks for ways to improve both customer and internal operations. “My goal is transparency, so people understand fully what we’re trying to accomplish,” says Gordon.

Gordon, his wife and two children live near St. Charles with their four-year-old black lab Lindsay—said to be an avid Oklahoma football and hockey fan. Gordon’s personal passion is improving his golf game. His current quest? To achieve a third hole in one!
