Growing up in India, Preetha’s father was in the army, which meant her family moved every three years. She says her upbringing helped her embrace change and seek new experiences, a trait that serves her well as an AFB International customer engagement scientist—a role in which she explores new research challenges and opportunities daily.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in food processing and preservation technology in India, Preetha came to the U.S. where she completed her master’s of science at Purdue University. She joined AFB at the company’s St. Charles, Missouri, USA headquarters in 2011 as a research associate and in 2013 became an AFB scientist. Today her role is to engage pet food customers to help them find the best solution to their product palatability needs.
Preetha enjoys spending time with friends and Tux, her 8-year-old Japanese Chin she rescued from a puppy mill. Always up for something new, Preetha recently enjoyed her first skydiving experience—and says she looks forward to her next adventure.
