As a 20-year veteran of the pet food industry, Bill understands it from the inside out. After graduation from Wright State University in 1994, he spent many years on the procurement side of the business, first at Hills where he earned an executive MBA from Rockhust University in Kansas City, Missouri, and later at NuPetra, where he became a general manager.
When NuPetra came into the AFB fold in 2006, Bill served in first a sales then a procurement role, before his return to the commercial side of the business as vice president of North American sales and global accounts. Having been on “both sides of the fence”—procurement and sales—Bill says he has learned a lot about the importance of value creation. Bill’s perspective is future-oriented: “We’re in this for the long haul with clients,” he says, “so we don’t take any shortcuts.”
Bill and his wife have two sons, two grandsons and a 10-year-old Golden Retriever named Zeus. Bill has spent much of his free time over the past six years coaching his younger son’s competitive baseball team to multiple winning seasons.
